The Athenaeum Hotel

Winner of the Tea Guild’s Top London Afternoon Tea Award for 2012 is the Athenaeum Hotel in Mayfair. It was voted the best spot for tea after its team room, The Garden Room had nearly a perfect score from the inspectors. At a cost starting from £28.50  per person, guest can expect a wide selection of teas, freshly baked scones and cakes and home made sandwiches delivered with excellent service.

The Savoy

Recently been renovated, the Savoy tea is served in the Thames Foyer.  There is a wide rage of finger sandwiches, cakes, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam.  The Savoy can be quite pricey at £45 a head for the Traditional Afternoon Tea.  However, it is one of the most famous venues for tea.  Sit back and relax  in The Thames Foyer with the new winter garden gazebo while you listen to the music from the in house pianist.

Fortnum and Mason

The famous department store located in the heart of Piccadilly, is also home to the quintessentially English Afternoon Tea. The St James’s restaurant at the back of the store has a wide range of Fortnum and Mason teas. They also cater for those with gluten allergies and diabetics.  There is a special Birthday Afternoon Tea so you can feel extra special that day.

Flemings Mayfair

Flemings is one of the most reasonably priced places for Afternoon Tea in London, which is the complete opposite of the prices of London apartments in its neighbourhood, Mayfair.  There is a rage of freshly made sandwiches, scones, cakes, complete with clotted cream and jam. Afternoon Tea is served from2:30pm to 5:00pm and there is no timed seating which means you can really take your time at Tea.
